BIRD FAMILIES OF THE WORLD

a web page by Don Roberson

BABBLERS Timaliidae
  • 259 species in Old World (excluding Australasia), mostly in the tropics
  • DR personal total: 83 species (32%), 18 photo'd

The old Babbler family [Timaliidae] has recently been split into three separate babbler families. I had initially treated these as subfamilies but, following other global checklists, I also now recognize them as three families. Follow these links to those families.
